Here are some pictures of the cute duck family. We are so happy to see them. We love the fact that the mom and dad bring their children around.

 

 

 

New birth in New Mexico

We have been feeding Mallard ducks in our backyard for over six months. They include a male and female who we always see together. Today we spotted them with three ducklings behind them, so cute.

 

Cute little critter

We have had this cute little critter crawling around the house.

He looks a lot like a chip monk but with less fur... At least less than the ones back east.

 

Swallows eggs

So far we have found several broken egg shells near the sweet swallows nests. It is kind of sad. It seems like the birds often have to fight other birds for their nests...we think this is when the eggs get knocked out. We have also seen some quail near our bird feeder... They have the sweetest call.

These are the nests we are observing.  One of them we know for sure has an egg.  I will download that one later.

This blog is about all of the great birds that I discover and watch with my family.
Lately we have been feeding a lot of birds.. I imagine I feed the large bird feeder several times a week.
We are also watching some swallow's nests.
